The Wedding Edit: Elopement Announcements

Josh & I were engaged for two years before finally deciding on a Paris elopement. We went back and forth as to what we should do as far as wedding plans were concerned. We thought about a beach wedding, a ceremony in the mountains, a church deal, and everything in between, yet nothing really felt like us. Meanwhile, there was always one constant from the moment we decided to get married – our honeymoon was going to be in France. More time went by, wedding plans were made then scratched again, life challenges were happening, job shuffles, and more, but we knew we wanted to make it all official. So, one late night scroll through Pinterest, I stumbled across a gorgeous image of a couple standing in their gown and tux at the Trocadero and my heart soared. I immediately woke up Josh to share my excitement and he agreed that it would be the perfect fit for the two of us.

After the big decision was made, and we told our immediate friends and family in person, we booked our engagement shoot with the incredibly talented Jolena Strickland of Black Ribbon Photography.

We were able to capture two different looks with Jolena, that really spoke to us and our relationship. One look a little more laid back, carefree, and featured lots of champagne that you can see here, and the other that would be perfect for formal announcements.

From the moment we received our images back, we looked to Minted to help us create a customized design for telling our friends and family our exciting news that were going to runaway to Paris! We chose a design in the Save the Date section, I believe ours was this onethat we added our own photos, changed colors, fonts, added foil lettering, and a rose gold envelope liner to make a simple, yet sophisticated look for our elopement announcement! It was incredibly easy, yet looked professional and elegant. It still makes me so happy to have dinner at our friends’ houses and see our little announcement posted on their refrigerators months later.

If you’re getting married, have a cute new pet you want to show off, need creative gift ideas, or holiday cards, use this link here, to get $25 off your order with Minted!

Keeping it just the two of us in Paris was so us, and so romantic, that our families were incredibly supportive and happy for us too! Sharing photos and creating beautiful prints and cards keeps the memories of these special moments living on and a really fun way to involve our friends and family. Nichole,
I absolutely love your style. Your elopement pictures are beautiful! My fiancé and I are eloping in Paris as well and I was wondering what room/suite you stayed in at the Grand Powers Hotel? Your photos on the balcony are stunning! Also, how early did you start getting ready the day of your wedding? We are debating whether we want a sunrise shoot or something a little later in the morning. What would you recommend? Thank you for your advice! 🙂

Hi Diana! Thank you so much for your sweet words. I’ll be posting a full wedding post with all the details of our day soon, but in the meantime I’ll try to answer you the best I can. We loved Hotel Grand Powers. The hotel, staff, everything was just perfect. We stayed in one of the pink Executive Rooms with a balcony. We had no idea if we would have an Eiffel veiw and luckily we did! Getting out and about early is key. It helped ensure our photos were not completely full of other people. Our photograher, Daria Lorman of Photographer in Paris, and Elopement Planner, Clara Armagast of Jet Wed Co., were instrumental in helping us that day. I got up at 6 AM I believe and our team arrived to the hotel around 7:30 AM. The morning light in Paris is just gorgeous, but Paris is gorgeous all the time so I’m sure whatever you choose will be amazing! Can’t wait to hear all about it! XX – Nichole
